We Work with Kids Food Experts

Chef Jackie and Raul Salas are owners of Eden Group and divisions Eden Catering, Kid Gourmet, Edulab Culinary Educational Laboratory and Pronto Burgers and Pizzas in Playa Potrero, Guanacaste. This couple of famous chefs decision to change their life about 3 years ago from attending to television shows, and catering the stars in Miami to be committed and serve the kids from schools of the local community in the area of ''The Gold Coast'' in Guanacaste. They deliver more than 4,000 lunches per month to their happy customers. In Pura Vida Adventure camp we want to be one of them!

Their Goal and How they do it?

Their goal is to provide customers with tasty and healthy food choices, with whole fresh ingredients, organic when possible, without the use of any kind of processed foods, avoiding products with preservatives or high levels of sodium´╝Ť and of course following the highest sanitation and safety standards in the industry.

They rely on the bounty of fresh, high quality ingredients found locally and with their passion for cooking and their knowledge of more than 30 years of combined experience in the culinary arts.

With more than 15 years organizing and catering for private and institutional events, these certified (ACF) professional chefs and their team of dedicated kitchen professionals will make sure that our campers have a memorable and satisfying culinary experience.

For those kids that have dietary restrictions, be confident. Enjoy total peace of mind that children with food allergies and special requirements are being safely catered for, without compromising on a fun and healthy meal time experience.

Their Credentials

Graduated from culinary school in Florida, both chefs Jackie and Raul Salas have participated in many important events during their intense culinary career. Here are some of them,

• Hosts of TV healthy cooking segments for America TV, Tele Miami, CNN Latino and others.
• Appearances as guests in MTV, VH1, Tele Futura, Univision, Telemundo, and others.
• Writers for healthy cooking magazines and hosts of the podcast Sabores y Aromas desde Costa Rica, aired by Radio Nova Internacional, Miami.
• United Health Care chose Chef Jackie for their national campaign Savour Your Health, for two consecutive seasons 2012 and 2013, in Los Angeles and Miami.
• Official caterers for the rehearsals and the grand opening of the Miami Marlins Stadium, serving more than 3,000 lunches and snacks in three days.
• Ocean Drive Fashion Extravaganzas 2007 and 2008, cooking food live for more than 1,000 people at Village of Merrick Park, Coral Gables.
• Caterers for charitable events and galas celebrated at Casa Casuarina, South Beach and Saks Fifth Avenue, Bal Harbour, among other locations, to benefit foundations as Key to the Cure, Cystic Fibrosis, The Kidney F., Make a Wish, Saint Jude Hospital, Miami Childrens Hospital, The Liver F., Amigos for Kids, etc.
• Cancer Summer Camp for the 2010 and 2011 season at the Miami Children Hospital.
• Participation as facilitators in cooking, catering and the culinary arts seminars at the Miami Dade
• College, Miami Dade Public Library System and the Miami University, Koubek Center.
• Chef Jackie Salas was given the 2012 Hispanic Chef of the Year award by the Women in the Arts Foundation of Miami.
• Chef Jackie was recognized by the Department of Potosi, Republic of Bolivia with the distinction of being a pioneer in the use of the Quinoa in South Florida. 2013
• In October 2016, invited by the Department of Potosi, Bolivia, Chef Jackie visited Santa Cruz and the Salar de Uyuni, teaching young school children and mothers in the various uses of the Quinoa.
• Recognition by the America Developing Smiles Foundation for her deep commitment of the education of children in Latin America.
