Camp Service Program
Pura Vida Adventure Camp, Guanacaste Bienestar and CEPIA Organization
join efforts creating a Community Service program, which the campers can use as community services hours. Guanacaste Bienestar and CEPIA are Costa Rican non-profit organizations. Guanacaste Bienestar gives psychological support to children and families from the communities of Guanacaste. CEPIA Organization seeks to promote culture, health, sports and education for children and teenagers from low-income families in the coastal communities of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Its name stands for Culture, Education and Psychology for Infants and Adolescents.
CEPIA offers these children and teenagers better opportunities through free cultural and educational activities, nutritional and psychological support as well as through collaborations with local schools and many organizations and public institutions. Many children and teenagers in our villages have no access to cultural and recreational activities; schools are poorly equipped and have little staff. Computer science and English language are almost not available at local schools.
The goal is that campers not only learn and enjoy in Costa Rica but also influence the local community in a positive way. They will be able to participate in variety of projects with local teenagers in the mornings. In these projects they will assist in art, sports, dance, English and computer science projects. They will have the opportunity to get involve with infrastructure projects as well, like improving local schools, planting trees, cleaning the beach and others.
